Kathi Emel

Kathi Marie Emel 68, of Howard, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday September 25th, 2023, with her family by her side.

Kathi was born on August 28, 1955, to Marie Eileen (Michael) and Edward Ray Wilson at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda Maryland. Kathi graduated from Rock Terrace High School, Rockville, Maryland.

In 1981, Kathi married James Michael Hanrahan Sr. They were blessed with a son, James Michael Hanrahan Jr.

In 1982 Kathi began her career at the National Institute of Health as a secretary for The National Library of Medicine. She worked for 25 years and loved working there.

Kathi was predeceased by her twin, Carol Ann, her parents (Marie and Ed), James Michael Sr. and her Yorkie puppies. 

Kathi is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Emel, her son James Jr., James’ wife Stephanie, her siblings Patti, Michael, and Terri, along with their respective spouses. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, grandchildren, and all that loved her.
