Jay E Martin,80, of Beech Creek, PA. passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at his residence. Born April 21, 1943, to the late William E Martin Sr. and Roxie M (McKean) Martin. Jay married Mary Ann (Arduini) Martin on January 2, 1990, who still survives him.
He was formerly married to Nancy L. Watt to which they had a son together Jay E. Martin Jr. He loved Jay Jr., his wife Peg (Welshans), and his two grandchildren Mariah and Caleb.
He was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ, Blanchard, PA. Graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School in 1961. He worked for Woolrich Woolen Mills, Piper Aircraft, and Dunkle and Grieb John Deere as a mechanic. He spent 15 years at the City of Lock Haven as a Mechanic/Equipment Operator. He retired from Lock Haven University in 2005 as a construction foreman with 20 years of service.
He enjoyed beef cattle farming and building barns, sheds, and additions to his house with the help of his family. He loved spending time hunting with family at their camp.
He loved his animals including a horse, Champ; dogs, King, Benji, Dakota, and Riley in which he took great pride in the training of them all.
Lastly, he enjoyed mowing his grass around the farm, along the roadways and the creek to keep things looking nice. He always tried staying active by working and taking walks.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vera Sponenberg (2015), and his brother, William “Bill” Martin Jr. (2016).
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family per Jay’s wishes.
