Helen L Watkins

Helen L Watkins, 74, of Bellefonte passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2023.

Born on November 12, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Martin C Gates Jr and Esther F Auman. 

Helen loved her family more than anything.  She enjoyed going camping, fishing, and family functions where she was able to spend time with her loved ones making lasting memories. 

She was a graduate of Bald Eagle High School in 1966. 

Helen is survived by her son, Charles Watkins Jr (Lauren) of Bellefonte; two daughters Pamela Tressler of Altoona and Patricia Myers (Terry) of Madisonburg; brother, Donald Gates (Dorothy) of Zion, Robert Gates of Milesburg, James Gates (Jane) of Zion, Terry Gates (Diane) of Milesburg and David Gates of Howard; sisters: Anna Mae Frantz of Howard, Carol Moore (Robert) of Howard, Beverly Miller (Terry) of Zion and Wanda Welker (Kenneth Welker) of Avis; step father, Raymond Bauman of Milesburg; six grandchildren: Timothy Tressler Jr (Steen) of San Diego, Katlyn Tressler (John Kelton) of Breezewood, Dylan Tressler (Valerie Reynolds) of Altoona, Kyle Myers (Amanda) of Smullton, Bayli Watkins of Harrisburg and Charles Watkins, of Bellefonte; as well as six great grandchildren Gabriel Tressler, Ivy Tressler, Lorraine Kelton, Alainia Kelton, Benjamin Myers and Maxine Tressler. 

Family and friends will be received for a time of visitation from 3-5PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W Main Street, Howard, PA. A funeral service will take place at the church at 5PM with pastor Craig Rose officiating.
