Dr. Leland D Confer

Dr. Leland “Lee” D. Confer, 74, of Howard passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Lee was born on July 15, 1948 in Lock Haven, PA. He was the son of the late Paul E. Sr. and Vivian M. Confer and the brother of Paul E. and the late Terry L. Confer.

Along with his brother Paul (Victoria), Lee is survived by nephews, Sean, Drew (Amy), Shayne (Kelly), Ryan (Keary); a niece Gina Gramling (Brian); as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Dr. Confer was a 1966 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was the class president and salutatorian. He graduated from Penn State University in 1970 with a degree in Biology. Lee then enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School of Medicine. He graduated from Penn in 1974 with a VMD degree. After graduation, Dr. Confer practiced briefly in Lock Haven and Mansfield before opening his practice in the Howard area. Lee was the “local” veterinarian until his retirement in December 2018.

There will be no public visitation or services per Lee’s request. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard, PA.
