Dale Eugene Donough, 56, of Blanchard, PA passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Jersey Shore Hospital after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure. Dale was born on September 9, 1967, in Lebanon, PA to the late Harold and Elsie Mae (Walters) Donough.
Dale was a 1985 graduate of Palmyra High School and joined the United States Marine Corps immediately after graduation. He served his country for 6 years as a Sargent in the 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Battalion. Dale loved being a Marine. He didn’t talk about his service to many, but those of us who were blessed to have heard some of his experiences, are honored and amazed.
Throughout his life, Dale worked for Hershey Foods in Security, Shyda’s Gun Shop and Trop Gun Shop in Sales, SIG Sauer as a National Sales Rep, various locations as a Prison Guard, and at The Hotel Hershey in Guest Services and Security.
Dale was an avid gun supporter, hunter, and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and was a devoted and loving husband and father. He and his family could always be found on one of their many family fishing outings, shooting, spending time in the woods together or at the condo in Fenwick Island, DE and visiting Assateague Island.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Miele), their daughter Rebecca, stepdaughter, Grace of Blanchard and son, Anthony (Fiona) and 3 grandchildren of Detroit, MI. Also surviving are his sister, Birdena (Bradford) Taliaferro of Cody, WY, Jay (Christine) Donough of Campbelltown, PA, a niece and three nephews; half-siblings, James (Paulette) Donough of Arkansas City, KS and Patricia Koestner of Elizabethtown, PA.
His personality filled the room, and he will be missed for his sharp wit, and love of life and his family.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held this summer. More details will be provided later.
