Brian Lee Hosterman

Brian Lee Hosterman, 63, of Howard, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born on May 21, 1960, in Bellefonte, He was the son of the late Jack and Dorothy (Confer) Hosterman. Brian married his loving wife Konnie Lamey on October 13, 1994, who survives him at home. 

Brian was a fun-loving man that loved to laugh and joke with everyone he met. He cherished spending time with friends and surrounding himself with his family, always with a grandchild or a family pet in his arms. He also found joy in the outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing or riding his motorcycle on a country road. 

Brian proudly served and protected his community serving as a police officer for the State College Police Department. He was responsible for helping to create the bike unit in the department and he served on the accident investigation unit. He loved being a cop and showed the utmost compassion to all of the people of his community.

He was a graduate of State College Area High School. 

In addition to his loving wife, Brian was survived by five children: Andrea Sharamatew (Chris), Shane Hosterman (Dana Grove), David Fisher, Brooke Moore (Don) and Whitney Fisher; ten grandchildren: Christopher, Andrew, Bentley, Wesson, Liam, Wyatt, Jack, Gabriel, Kason and Jane; as well as his sister, Barb Porter (Rob). 

Along with his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his in-laws, Lee and Virginia Lamey.

Family and friends will be received from 6-8PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, and from 10-11AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Singer Kader Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 135 W. Main St, Howard, PA. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM with Pastor Renee Ford officiating. Interment will be at Houserville Cemetery.
